Create an Online Brokerage Account in US or Canada
Setting up an online brokerage account is as easy as 1, 2, 3...
- Visit the website of your favourite bank or brokerage house. A list some of the brokerage houses in Canada and links to their websites is below.
- Print out the appropriate application form.
- Send
the completed application form back to the brokerage house as required.
Note that even if you complete the application online or send it in by fax, most brokerage houses will require an original signature, so it is best to just print out the form, complete it, and send it by snail mail. It is also important to note that many brokerage houses will require you attach a cheque for your initial deposit for your account. Some require the check simply to prove that you are real.
Once your account has been created, the brokerage house will contact you with instructions as to how to logon and make a trade.
